About Us
Founded in 2021, Science in a Bag is a project that promotes STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) to female students across the country through free hands-on science kits.

Science in a Bag led by female high school/college students and male allies who are passionate about sharing their love for the field of STEM.
Our Purpose
81%
of girls think being given equal education in STEM as boys is important.
42%
of girls feel they have equal access to STEM compared to boys.
33%
of all students enrolled in STEM-related fields of study globally are female.
29%

What We Do
We create science kits that utilize common household items as instruments for interactive and engaging science experiments. As a result, we hope to foster increased excitement, confidence, and understanding in STEM for girls.
Aspects

Science kits: Design and assemble science kits + step-by-step instructional booklets + online demonstration videos.

Interactive learning experience: Host virtual and in-person science camps with engaging curriculums led by high school/college girls.

Train future leaders: Our volunteers serve as role models for young girls and help passionate young girls at workshops take on leadership roles.

Girl Up
We are part of the global Girl Up Club community striving to make a difference to the world through education, fundraising, advocacy, and service.

Girls and women are underrepresented in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. We’re bridging the gender gap in these fields by inspiring girl leaders to use STEM skills to create solutions to problems in their communities.
